Oakfield Primary School, Wickford, Essex | Circus Skills

We did circus skills for a Year 6 leavers day. It was great fun. This was what the Head Teacher wrote at the end of the visit :

Thank you for helping us to achieve one of our most important aims: “To provide memorable moments”.  Everyone enjoyed the activities (children and staff).  I will let all of my head teacher friends know about you.

We have been to quite a few schools in Essex over the years. I’m getting very proficient at finding my way from place to place ( The Sat Nav helps of course ).

Osmotherley Primary School | Circus Skills

I did this job a while ago. The school was in the middle of building work and so we used the village hall.  We had an excellent morning and everyone got to try their hand at a variety of different activities. This is what the Head Teacher wrote afterwards :

Thank you for an entertaining morning.  The children had lots of fun and we learned lots of new skills too.

I certainly enjoyed my visit and I’m glad it was well received.

St Palladius Primary School, Dalry | Puppets

Fantastic day!  Gave the whole school a great experience with the puppet show.  Workshops in class for P6/7 were interesting and informative.  Writing scripts and working with puppets provided an invaluable base for further work.  Teachers as well as pupils learned about Punch and Judy today.

Thanks Ron!

Whinmoor St Pauls Primary School, Seaside Day

I spent a full day working with two classes of KS1 children helping them to learn about the seaside in the past. The children asked lots of questions and enjoyed watching the film about seaside holidays and discussing the difference between then and now. They loved the Punch and Judy Show and were fascinated by the puppets as you can tell by the comment the teacher wrote afterwards:

Thank you Ron for a thoroughly entertaining and informative day.  The children really enjoyed the experience.  The handing round of the puppets was a nice touch which brought it to life all the more.

Thank you very much.

The Dales School, Bedale, Circus Day

The Dales School in Bedale North Yorkshire asked if we could deliver a circus skills workshop for special needs children. We arranged to make a half day visit as the school is not too far from where we are based. Here was the comment written by the teacher in charge.

A lovely morning of fun and laughter. Thanks from all especially the staff!!

With any group of children we always adapt the content of the workshop and the style of presentation so that it is appropriate to their age and ability.

Cockermouth School Circus Skills

This comment was written at the end of a visit to Cockermouth School where I taught basic circus skills to sixth formers during an activity day:

A superb afternoon. The students had an awesome time! We’ll do it again!

The circus skills was one of several activities which the students could participate in. African drumming was also popular.
